Ryan Clarkson and others from the Ma Mawi Wi Chi Itata Centre

In October 1986, a group from the Ma Mawi Wi Chi Itata Centre in Winnipeg arranged a slideshow as part of an open afternoon for local schoolchildren at the Findhorn Foundation in Forres.They also performed a powwow at the venue a few days later. The group, made up of people in their teens and early twenties, were on three week tour of Britain including a youth exchange visit to the foundation, where they spent “a week telling people of their traditions and culture.” They also visited Project North-East in Newcastle, the Newcastle Youth Enterprise Centre, the Prince of Wales Community Venture in Sunderland, and Brass Tacks, an IT centre in North Shields.
