Description
Ackabee arrived in Liverpool in July 1916, six months after enlisting. He was sent to the Front in August 1916 and spent 2 years as a sniper there, getting injured several times. He was eventually invalided back to Bramshott in October 1918 and after being court martialled for being AWOL towards the end of 1918 he was sent to the Canadian demobilisation camp in Ripon. After being transferred to Kinmel Park, Rhyl, Ackabee returned home to Canada from Liverpool in March 1919.
