Description

Sewid, a chief councillor of the Kwakwak’wakw Nation, made a short visit to Baltonsborough in 1973. He gave a talk at the school about his people’s “social and ceremonial life and explained the heraldic significance of totem poles”And in his own language, which he afterwards translated, he said how much he and his wife had enjoyed this, their first visit to Britain; how beautiful they thought our country is, especially all the flowers and trees in their spring-time glory.”
