Description

Known as the “Hand-Footed Indian,” Boseth was an armless boy who performed in freak shows, including the one at Reynold’s. He was famous for shooting arrows from his bow using his feet. It is possible that Boseth was a boy from the Rainy River nation in what is currently Ontario. In 1887, the Indian agent there wrote to the Canadian government, asking for help locating an armless boy who had been contracted by an Englishman to appear in freak shows in England several years earlier. His parents had not heard from him since 1885 or received the money they had been promised and were concerned that their son would not be returned to them. It is unclear what happened to Boseth.
