Description
With Sitting Bull prohibited from leaving the US, Red Shirt took over as “Chief” of Buffalo Bill’s touring party. In the biggest logistical exercise known to that point, William Cody brought hundreds of performers, animals, and requisite staging over to the UK for the Great Exhibition at Earl’s Court. In the winter of 1887-88, where we have our flag, they performed and camped at the old Manchester Racecourse, on the banks of the RIver Irwell in Salford.
