Description

As a pilot and captain in the US Army Air Corps, Wahnee was assigned to Seething Air Field, Norwich. He flew missions from there until March 1944, when his plane was hit by anti-aircraft fire over France and he and his crew were forced to abandon the plane. He was captured by German troops when he landed and spent the remainder of the war in various prisoner of war camps. He was liberated on 29th April 1945.
