In 2016, actress and activist Marcella Gilbert and her mother, Madonna Thunder Hawk, participated in a public meeting at St Mary’s College, Belfast, to raise awareness of the 40th anniversary of American Indian Movement activist Leonard Peltier’s incarceration.
