Description
Vaughan explains that it is difficult to know what happens to Native slaves in England in the long term. A few, however, do appear in parish burial records, such as these three: “Loreto, an Indian woman” (1681), “an India black boy of Mr Thomas Gray” (1683), and “a ffemale Indian ffrom Sr John Berrye’s”, all registered buried at St. Olave’s.
