Chief Judy Wilson of the Neskonlith Band in the Shuswap District of British Columbia attended COP26 in Glasgow in 2021 as part of the Assembly of First Nations delegation. Adding her voice to the many who argued that giving Indigenous people only observer status was insufficient, she told CNN:
