Description
Spider, a Lakota performer, fell ill with pneumonia while touring with Buffalo Bill’s Wild West Show and was hospitalized at Llandudno Cottage Hospital. At the end of May 1904, Cody wrote to John Brennan, the agent at Pine Ridge, to let him know that Spider would be returning home since he had “lung trouble. And the only care for return is dry air which they can’t have here.” (https://codyarchive.org/texts/wfc.css00006.html)
