Description
Powless, a veteran of the First World War, served with the 1st Division of the Canadian Army Service Corps in the Second World War. He was posted to England and trained as a driver. In November 1940, he appeared at the Horsham Petty Sessions because he had “left a stationary car without lights, told the police that he had forgotten all about them, and asked if the offence could be “˜scratched off.’ However, he was fined £1.”
