Description
Dempsey Bob is a northwest coast woodcarver and sculptor of Tahltan and Tlingit descent. When the new North American Gallery at the British Museum was opened in 2000, Dempsey Bob performed and donated a carved mask (not currently on display) to then curator Jonathan King for the museum’s collection. He also visited the Museum in 2013 in the company of Norman Jackson, a Tongass Tlingit wood carver and metal engraver from southeast Alaska.
