Chief Steve William, Russ Moses, Helen Moses, and other members of Six Nations of the Grand River

Description

A delegation from the Six Nations of the Grand River spent time in the Plymouth area at the end of 1993 at the rededication of the Royal Navy’s HMS Brave. Their affiliation had begun when the ship visited Ontario in 1990 and the First Nation adopted it. Williams remarked: “We enjoyed adopting the ship and we say a special prayer to protect the men and women on board. We hope they never have to fire their weapons except in self-defence.” As part of their visit, the group spent time playing golf at the China Fleet Country Club.
