Scotland and Canada was the theme of “Beyond Words”, the 2019 International Storytelling Festival organised by the Scottish Storytelling Centre at John Knox House. Beyond the Spectacle invited and hosted Ontario Regional Chief, RoseAnne Archibald, who spoke movingly both of her own Scottish ancestry, and a number of challenges facing First Nations. She became National Chief of the Assembly of First Nations in 2021.
