Description
ḥaa’yuups was born at Ahaswinis, north of Port Alberni, at the head of Barkley Sound, on February 11, 1948. He is a member of the Huupachesat-ḥ First Nation of the Nuu-chah-nulth peoples. He was honoured guest at the opening of Empowering Art: Indigenous Creativity and Activism from North America’s Northwest Coast at the Sainsbury Centre for Visual Arts on the University of East Anglia’s campus in Norwich.
