Yve Chavez

Yve Chavez (Gabrielino/Tongva, Tohono O’odham, Akimel O’odham) is a postdoctoral fellow at the University of California, Santa Cruz. Her research interests include historical and contemporary Native American art, colonial Latin American art, and early modern material exchanges. Her current project examines the history of Indigenous artistic and architectural practice at California’s Franciscan missions.
