Kaitlyn joined the team as a second-year Art History student at UEA, and will be attending her Master’s in the Arts of Africa, Oceania and the Americas with the Sainsbury Research Unit this September. Her interests have consisted of studying Indigenous arts from around the world, and how arts and material cultures can help to understand the culture as a whole. She believes that it is possible to map change in society through various changes within the arts. This element of her interest is what she hopes to bring to ‘Beyond the Spectacle’.
Kaitlyn says, “I am proud to be working alongside the team in this project, because I truly believe that their research is vital to giving Native American communities their voices when being represented in Britain. I hope to help promote these previously silenced voices here in the UK and to break down the deep-rooted stereotypes that are still current today. “
