About

While studying for her BA in Human, Social and Political Sciences, Josie specialised in archaeological theory and the art, archaeology and anthropology of the Americas. During her masters at the Sainsbury Research Unit, she developed research interests in decolonialism and critical museology, specifically in attempts at decolonising museums in the UK. She hopes to bring this approach to her role with Beyond the Spectacle.

She has further interests in the application of intersectional theory to representation in the arts and media, and in increasing accessibility of research to non-academics.

Josie has worked as a commercial archaeologist, and in early 2019 took up a position as a graduate attaché at the British Institute in Eastern Africa, Nairobi.
