Federation of Saskatchewan Indian Nations

Description

This delegation came to London to commemorate (and arguably to protest) the Royal Proclamation of 1763, a document that determined Crown authority over the expropriation of Indigenous lands after the British defeated the French in the Seven Years War. The delegation were received at the Canadian High Commission, conducted a pipe ceremony at Guards Chapel in honour of Indigenous veterans, and viewed archival documents related to the Proclamation at the British Library.
