Twelve Indigenous North Americans “skilled in traditional native crafts and Indian dance” took part in the Daily Mail Ideal Home Show in March 1971. The group “appeared in the pavilion surrounded by displays of historic and contemporary American culture. Master craftsmen demonstrated Cherokee basketry, Navajo rug weaving, wood carving, leatherwork, beadwork and other crafts. Six Indian students from Fort Lewis College, Durango, Colorado, performed tribal dances.”
