Miguel Alexiades is an environmental anthropologist and ethnobotanist whose geographical and ethnographic area of interest is southwestern, pre-Andean Amazonia, where he has conducted extensive field work on issues relating to Indigenous environmental knowledge and practices in a post-colonial context, with a particular focus on questions relating to land and resource rights.
