We are pleased to announce that Kent and CBCD Research Fellow, Dr Dario Novellino has won the Ostrom Prize for Practioners 2021 for a lifetime of work advocating for the rights of indigenous peoples, including the Batak of Palawan Island in the Philippines.
He has also produced a new film Days of the Wolf about the impact of large carnivores on livestock in the Aurunci Mountains and Ciociaria.
The film is part of the Bringing in Pastoralist Voices research project in the Aurunci Mountains of Lazio, Italy. The research addresses an urgent need to ensure an effective feedback mechanism and better synergies amongst all actors advocating in favour of extensive livestock systems, so as to reduce the power imbalances between pastoralists and decision makers.
