
On Tuesday 1st of October 2024 Yann Amouroux – Director, Europe at Opticavisited AOG and School of Engineering and Digital Arts at University of Kent.
Optica (formerly OSA), Advancing Optics and Photonics Worldwide, is the
society dedicated to promoting the generation, application, archiving and
dissemination of knowledge in the field. Founded in 1916, it is the leading
organization for scientists, engineers, business professionals, students and others
interested in the science of light. Optica’s renowned publications, meetings,
online resources and in-person activities fuel discoveries, shape real-life
applications and accelerate scientific, technical and educational achievement.
Yann had the opportunity to discuss with AOG’s members and reinforced the
connections between the AOG and the Student Chapter schemes from Optica.
Yann learned about the projects developed by AOG while visiting the labs and
facilities.
During his visit, Yann also had the opportunity to meet and discuss with Dr Chao
Wang, Senior Lecturer at the School of Engineering and Digital Arts, University
of Kent.
