On 20th June 2023, the Group was honoured to welcome Prof David Huang, first-author on the seminal 1991 paper on Optical Coherence Tomography in Science, and Prof Yali Jia, a pioneer of optical coherence angiography. Both are currently professors at Oregon Health & Science University.
The visitors had lunch with AOG students and postdocs, visited the labs and had dinner with AOG academics. Prof Huang presented to the group and a wider audience at Kent talks on “History of OCT and OCT angiography” and “Improving resolution & contrast for clinical OCT” while Prof Jia presented on “Retinal OCT angiography & oximetry: technology innovations and clinical applications”
