On 23rd May, the AOG hosted former group member Adam Effenberger, now R&D optics designer at Meopta, Czech Republic.
As part of his undergraduate degree at the Brno University of Technology (BUT), Adam spent time in the Applied Optics Group for a placement in 2014, where he worked with supercontinuum lasers. In 2015, he graduated from BUT and joined Meopta, a leading international company in optical technology. This marked the beginning of his professional career in the industry.
Adam’s talk on “From the University of Kent to a Leading Optical Technology Company” gave an overview of Meopta’s activities, and focused on his journey from his time in academia to working in industry, and the importance of academic-industrial partnerships.
