
On Wednesday 29 May, Her Excellency Laura Popescu, Ambassador of Romania to the United Kingdom, and Andrew Buglass, Honorary Consul of Romania in the UK, visited the Canterbury campus of the University of Kent.
As part of the visit, they were then given a tour of the photonics research facilities and laboratories by the Head of the Applied Optics Group, Prof Adrian Podoleanu. They had the opportunity to interact with faculty members, postdoctoral researchers and graduate students, gaining insights into the work being conducted in the Group. They saw demonstrations of imaging technology being developed by the Group, including optical coherence tomography (OCT) and microscopy. The visitors expressed their admiration for the university’s commitment to academic excellence and innovation and the international outlook of the group.
