SPS/AOG Colloquium talk by Marisa Monteiro (Science Museum of the University of Porto)

Last Wednesday, June 20th 2018, we welcomed Marisa Monteiro, curator of the Natural History and Science Museum of the University of Porto (Portugal), who gave a talk on the multi-faceted mission of an academic museum which not only houses collections of scientific instruments but also plays a very important role in educating young people (and the general public) through a permanent interactive exhibition.

Her talk was very enlightening and rich in detail, especially when referring to the special exhibits put together to celebrate the International Year of Light, which even included a temporary display of our own OCT retinal phantom, and some OCT B-scans acquired here at the AOG.

We thank Marisa for her talk and look forward to hearing more about the museum in the future.
