Cognitive-behavioural treatment for men with learning disability at risk of sexual offending

A research grant from the Department of Health was awarded to the convenors of SOTSEC-ID, Professor Glynis Murphy and Neil Sinclair, to evaluate this treatment for men with intellectual disabilities at risk of sexual offending. Kathryn Heaton, Sarah Jane Hays, Nancy Hampton, Sylvia Florczyk, Charlotte Peck, Aida Malovic and now Clare Melvin have worked as researchers on the project. The data set is now closed but we plan to apply for new research funding in the next year or so.

The project has been disseminated at many conferences, including the International Association of the Scientific Study of Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (IASSIDD) conferences. You can download the latest Microsoft Powerpoint (.ppt) presentation here.

You are welcome to read the final Department of Health report.
