Ways to get involved

We are always looking for schools, families and young people to take part in our research. You can do this in a number of ways.

Contact us if you are interested in any of our projects below. We’d be delighted to hear from you.

Twilights and training

We are happy to welcome school staff to our twilight (evening) and training sessions designed for education professionals and school staff. These are free to attend.

Register for alerts of upcoming training events.

Schools- participating in research, events and visits

If your school would like to participate in our research, or you have a research idea you would like to pursue together, please email us at devpsychukc@kent.ac.uk

We are also keen to share psychological research findings and topics with young people, and run workshops on well-being, mindfulness, and gender stereotypes. Please email us if this is of interest to you.

Families

If you would like to sign up your children to take part in our research, please see our Kent Child Development Unit page.

How to Make a Happy School

A free educational programme and research project where students are encouraged to take on the role of a “Scientist of Happiness”, investigating happiness in relation to their own school experience from a scientific perspective. Interactive activities will encourage students to think about scientific measurement, data collection as well as other important scientific skills, culminating in a professional survey created using questions come up with by school pupil’s themselves.

If interested please email the Happy Schools team at happyschools@kent.ac.uk for more information!
