Physics of Quantum Materials Journal Club

The journal club is similar to the main PQM discussion group, with one crucial difference: attendance is limited to students and postdoctoral researchers. The main purpose of the journal club is to improve cohesion and discussion between these junior researchers in an informal context. In the 2022-2023 academic year, the weekly journal club meetings will be led by PQM’s various research students, on a rotating basis. Each is expected to present part of their own research, a scientific article or anything else that they find stimulating. The speakers are not necessarily expected to be experts on their topic, rather questions and open discussion are encouraged.

In Term 1, the 2022/23 Journal club meetings will take place on Wednesdays at 12:00 in Chipperfield seminar room 4 (link to room details here).

In Term 2, the journal club will meet in Stacey Lecture theatre 1 on Thursdays at 12:00, typically for around an hour.
