Professor Ana Marrades is Professor of Constitutional Law at the University of Valencia (Spain) School of Law. She has been teaching at the Department of Constitutional Law since 1993, while practising law as an attorney at the same time until 2010. In 2011 she joined full time to the Department.

Ana received her Doctoral Degree in Law from the University of Valencia (2000). She has carried out research stays at the Universities of Pisa (Italy), Virginia (USA) and Kent (UK) and has held seminars at the University of Kent and University of Bologna (Italy).

She has published several works about the Constitutional Court case-law, specially in the field of gender studies. She has participated in several research projects about these areas, and has coauthored several studies on political participation like Género, constitución y estatutos de autonomía (2005), Las mujeres parlamentarias en la legislatura constituyente (2006) and Las parlamentarias en la primera legislatura (2010), El derecho a la participación política de las mujeres (2014). Among several other publications, she has authored Luces y sombras del derecho a la maternidad: análisis jurídico de su reconocimiento (Valencia, 2002) and coauthored La violencia de género en la población de mujeres inmigrantes (Valencia, 2013). She has also participated in several projects on Education and Innnovation with the Universities of the Valencian Communittie and the local Parlament.

She is a member of the Consejo Valenciano de la Mujer, which depends on the Generalitat Valenciana.
