Tom Cargill is Executive Director of the British Foreign Policy Group, a nonpartisan, not for profit organisation established to support more inclusive evidence led engagement on the UK’s international choices. His current area of focus is on new foreign policy actors in the UK and the changing nature of policy development in relation to international issues in UK government. He has worked in various roles in the public, private and NGO sectors, including at Chatham House. Previous publications include ‘Rising Power: Revitalising British Foreign Policy for a new Global Era’, ‘More with Less: Trends in UK Diplomatic Engagement with Sub-Saharan Africa’, and ‘Our Common Strategic Interests: Africa’s Role in the Post G8 World’
