Introduction
Representing the University of Kent as an Academic Training Partner of ISC2, iCSS is organising a number of ISC2 CC pilot training courses for those who are interested in getting their first cyber security industrial certification – ISC2 CC (Certified in Cybersecurity) – after attending an instructor-led course in a single weekend. The instructor is ISC2-authorised and will use IS2-provided official training materials. The training course will be delivered as a hybrid event, so both in-person and remote participants are allowed. The physical venue will be on the University of Kent’s campus in Canterbury.
Such courses are open to all at a standard price of £150, but the following people will be eligible for a discount price of £100:
- students and staff of the University of Kent,
- students and satff of the University of Greenwich,
- members of KMCS3 (Kent & Medway Cyber Security Student Society), and
- members of KMCC (Kent & Medway Cyber Cluster) and other local cyber clusters recognised by the UKC3 (UK Cyber Cluster Collaboration).
The courses will be organised in a demand-driven and rolling manner: when there are enough (20-30) paid participants, a course will be organised over a weekend convenient for all participants. Those who cannot attend one course will be offered the opportunity to attend a future one. Before a participant gets a confirmed seat at a scheduled course, a full refund can be arranged minus an administration fee of £5. Once a participant is enrolled into a scheduled course, the fee cannot be refunded.
iCSS is working with many other organisations including KMCC, KMCS3 and UKC3 to co-promote the courses to attract more people into the cyber security community.
