Evaluating the impact and implementation of Everyday Active
The overall aim of Everyday Active is to encourage more people, to be more active, more often, across Kent and Medway, by providing easy access to information about activities / being physically active.
Mixed-methods evaluation will capture data on Everyday Active campaign considering:
- Reach – what types of potential beneficiaries are reached
- Effectiveness – for whom is Everyday Active (or components of) effective, in improving what outcomes, with what consequences
- Adoption – extent to which target staff, individuals, settings, groups or institutions are willing to engage with Everyday Active
- Implementation – consistency and cost of delivery of intervention; What adaptations are made during delivery?
- Maintenance – to what extent are intervention effects in individuals and settings maintained over time
The study will gather data from health care professionals who access Everyday active training, Everyday Active Champions in 4 areas across Kent & Medway and individuals who receive support to improve their levels of physical activity.
Research Objectives:
- Does Everyday Active affect knowledge about physical activity and local resources?
- Does Everyday Active increase awareness of the benefits of / opportunities for physical activity?
- Does Everyday Active affect confidence in health care / other professionals to have a conversation about behaviour change and physical activity?
- Does Everyday Active impact on physical activity levels?

What are the main aims?
The proposed study will draw from implementation science using the RE-AIM framework to evaluate the implementation of Everyday Active and assess impact on Healthcare Professionals and physical inactive individuals.
