I joined CHSS in August 2025 as a Research Assistant, after working clinically as an Assistant Psychologist in mental health services. Alongside my clinical work, in 2024 I completed a PhD in Health Sciences, exploring public attitudes towards adverse childhood experiences and criminality in the UK. I also have an MSc in Investigative Psychology from the University of Huddersfield and a BSc (Hons) in Psychology from City, University of London.
My current role within CHSS involves working on a randomised controlled trial of Trauma Informed Practice for young people referred to Children’s Services. This study is part of a portfolio of complex national trial evaluations addressing the needs of marginalised populations.
I am also a member of a multidisciplinary research team, working to understand the outcomes for secured children and young people in Wales.

Prior to joining the CHSS in 2025, my professional background includes working in various mental health services as an Assistant Psychologist. This includes the Clinical Team at Hillside Secure Children’s Home, where I also trained as a Trauma Recovery Model Practitioner. Within this role I became experienced in the process of Enhanced Case Management, assisting with clinical formulations. I’ve previously been awarded funding by the College of Health Sciences at Bangor University to train in minimising bias in forensic decision making, via Palo Alto University, USA. In addition, I have operational experience of the Criminal Justice System, previously working as a Police Constable within South Wales Police.
