About

Myles is currently undertaking an NIHR ARC KSS funded PhD Studentship in Social Care at CHSS. He is focusing on family carers in dementia and access to services over the course of caring responsibility, between different living arrangements.

Myles has been working as a research assistant for CHSS since April 2022 and has supported a broad range of research projects, which includes the development, evaluation and dissemination of a toolkit for delivering hospice care at home (OPEL Toolkit) and an evaluation of an acute home care model for people with COPD in East Kent. He has also worked on evaluations of frailty home treatment services and social prescribing pathways, and a systematic review of alcohol screening and brief interventions for people with cognitive impairment.

Myles has previously studied Sociology (BA) and Social Research Methods (MSc) at the University of Sussex. He then worked as a research assistant for implementation at the Applied Research Collaboration Kent, Surrey and Sussex (ARC KSS), supporting the Social Care and Living Well with Dementia themes.
