Communities of Practice – Workforce – 20 March 2025

20 March 2025   |    12:00 – 13:00  |    Zoom

Research in social care is very important as it can inform social work practice and improve outcomes for people. The Kent Research Partnership is one of six capacity building, social care partnerships funded by the NIHR Health Services and Delivery (HS&DR) programme in England. Our four-year programme of work is developing sustainable Kent-based partnerships to support the delivery of high quality social care research on the topics that matter most in our region.

Our monthly Communities of Practice meetings are a key aspect of this work as they enable people from all backgrounds to come together to discuss their shared area of interest, learn from each other and existing research, and develop tangible research projects about the topic which will have a real impact on practice.

We are delighted to welcome our guest speaker Dr Ruth Abrams (University of Surrey), who will be discussing the challenges of implementing and sustaining dementia care coordinators across integrated care systems : a realist evaluation.

We are also delighted to welcome Dr Barbora Silarova (University of Kent), Karin Webb (NIHR) and Dr Sarah Markham (NIHR).

The focus of their talk will be exploring support for for people living with dementia, their family members, and friends, living in Kent and Medway (with a specific focus on deprived areas and the role of dementia care coordinators).

We look forward to welcoming you to our Workforce focused Communities of Practice.
