Change to CHSS Primary Care Seminar; 2 Dec 2015 – Prof Michael Calnan on healthcare rationing decisions

In a change to the advertised KAPCU programme, CHSS is pleased to announce that Michael Calnan, Professor of Medical Sociology at the University of Kent, will deliver some fascinating insights from his study of the processes which surround NHS healthcare rationing.

‘Still ‘Elegantly muddling through’?: Trust and the management of uncertainty in healthcare rationing decisions in England’ discusses how those bodies charged with making life-changing decisions about new drugs for the NHS, attempt to deal with complex issues and uncertainties associated with the process.

Mike previously delivered this seminar last month to a packed house at Canterbury campus and we are delighted that he will now take it to a Medway audience.

This seminar replaces Professor Vari Drennan’s session on Physician Assistants, which sadly, due to unforeseen circumstances, has had to be cancelled.

Please note that time, date and venue are unchanged – 1.30pm, Wed 2 December, Boardroom (R2-09) Rochester Building, University of Kent, Medway campus.
