Dr Wenjing Zhang

About

Dr Wenjing Zhang joined CHSS, University of Kent in 2019. Her research expertise and interests focus on health and social care, ageing and social policy. With experience using both qualitative and quantitative methods over ten years studying the health and social care sector, Wenjing has worked on policy- and practice- oriented research projects. She works as a Researcher in Residence for National Institute for Health and Care Research (NIHR) funded Kent Research Partnership and also leads a NIHR School for Social Care Research (SSCR) funded study on Better Care Moves for Older People. Straddling the fields of social gerontology and public policy implementation, she especially focuses to adapt and extend concepts developed in a Western context to the study of East Asian policy implementation.

Prior to joining CHSS, Wenjing worked as a Teaching Associate (2016-2019) and a Research Associate (2018-2019) at the University of Bristol.

Wenjing completed her PhD in Social Policy at University of Bristol, MSc in Social Policy (Research) at London School of Economics and Political Science and BSc in Social Work at Fudan University.

Wenjing supervises dissertations of students in MSc Health Management.
