About

I joined CHSS in November 2023. My role as Research Assistant involves undertaking qualitative research including helping to prepare, set up, conduct interviews and focus groups, and contribute to the outputs of project assignments through data analysis.

I am currently working on an NIHR CRN funded project aimed at understanding the facilitators and barriers for people with severe mental illness (SMI) in engaging in mental health research in Kent and understanding ways to increase participation.

I am also assisting in the CIRCLE project which aims at improving inclusivity in LGBTQ+ residential care.

Additionally, I work within the Patient and Public Involvement (PPI) team at CHSS.

Education

I completed a BA (hons) in History at the University of Northampton before going to the University of Warwick where I undertook an MA in the History of Medicine.

First place in the Midlands History Essay Competition (2023)

 

Research interests

I have a great interest in formulating a positive impact on the health and well-being of underrepresented groups. Community-driven research has been a key focus across my undergraduate and postgraduate life.

My expertise lies in the histories of sexual health and sexual health promotion among young people.
