Practical information:

Venue for all talks: Ingram Lecture Theatre, Ingram Building, University of Kent. A campus map can be found here. The poster session is held in the Foyer outside the lecture theatre.

Lodging for participants: Bed & Breakfast at Keynes College, University of Kent

Checking in:

– check in at Keynes college reception any time from 2pm (Campus map): Enter the glass doors at the main entrance, and you will find the reception desk towards the right hand side of the entrance hall.

– late check-in (after 10pm): Please use the service telephone near the reception, or phone 01227 813333 to contact Campus Security who will issue your keys). A staff member of Campus security will help you check in and issue your keys.

Breakfast:

– Breakfast is served at ‘Dolche Vita’, Keynes College served from 7:45am (Campus map).

Wifi Access:

– Eduroam is available everywhere on campus. Please make sure to set up access while at your home institution.

– Visitors may also use the Guest Wifi with SSID “WiFi Guest”: For details, please see the corresponding IT Services Page.

Parking on site:

– Parking is available on site for participants lodged at Keynes College. Please ask for a parking pass during check-in. You will be asked for your registration plate number. Please email me if you require parking and are not lodged on campus.

Travel to Canterbury:

You can conveniently reach the campus via Canterbury West Station on the high speed train from London St Pancras, or see detailed directions.

Reaching the School of Physical Sciences:

The University is served with frequent bus connections from the train station, see in google maps.

Weather permitting, the University is also in walkable distance from the train station.

Taxis are available outside the station. If you plan to arrive by train on Tuesday morning and require a taxi, please email me so we can book a joint taxi transfer for all participants.

Travel Reimbursements:

All EMNEQ network members and invited speakers can claim travel and reasonable subsistence expenses from the network. (Note you can claim back expenses for the evening meal at Canterbury on Monday; all subsistence during the conference days Tue/Wed will be provided on site). Please keep receipts and follow the instructions at https://emneq.org/funding/.
