Open Position: Lecturer in Chemistry (Main Group) at University of Kent

The School of Chemistry and Forensic Science at the University of Kent is thrilled to announce a full-time, permanent Lecturer in Chemistry position. We are seeking a dedicated individual with expertise in main group chemistry to join our Supramolecular, Interfacial, and Synthetic Chemistry (SISC) group, contributing to our vibrant research and teaching community.

The successful candidate will play a crucial role in delivering and designing high-quality undergraduate and postgraduate programs. They will engage in both individual and collaborative research, producing high-quality publications. Additionally, the role involves active participation in university meetings, working groups, and committees.

Applicants should have a PhD (or be near completion) in Chemistry, Biochemistry, or a related discipline, with extensive knowledge in main group chemistry. A strong commitment to excellence in teaching and the ability to supervise high-quality research projects at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels is essential.

The new lecturer will join the SISC group, known for its cutting-edge research in synthesis, self-assembling materials, stimuli-responsive systems, and molecular and macromolecular bio-active systems. Our state-of-the-art facilities include two 400 MHz NMR instruments, Raman spectrometry, two SEMs, five X-ray diffractometers, a magnetometer, dynamic light scattering, rheometry, DSC, TGA, and a range of chromatography instruments (HPLC, GC-MS, LC-MS).
