I have worked in the field of UK horticulture for over 20 years, including a seed collecting expedition in New Zealand for RBG Kew (2006) and have led advances in cultivated plant conservation for Plant Heritage (2007-15). In 2015 I was awarded the John Spedan Lewis medal by The Linnean Society for my contribution towards cultivated plant conservation.
I have completed the Flowering Plant Taxonomy and Plant Systematics course at Cambridge University Botanic Garden (2008), completed an M. Hort. from the Royal Horticultural Society in 2011, and an MSc Ethnobotany at UKC in 2016; all of which require working knowledge of botanical and taxonomic principles. My continuing area of personal interest is house plants and why people grow them.
