A one-day interdisciplinary hybrid symposium to consider how migration, movement and medicine are interwoven in our global history from circa 1500 to the present day. With a material culture focus, this event explored the themes of migrating medical texts, objects and drugs from the perspectives of history, economics, pharmacy, botany, geology and literary studies.
The symposium took place at the University of Kent campus (Templeman Lecture Theatre) at Canterbury alongside the Symposium Exhibition, Migrating Materia Medica, in Special Collections, Templeman Library. See our blog about the day.
