Cat in a tree

Cat in sour cherry tree (vișin)

My tom cat has four paws and one tiny nose he knowingly hides from the camera eye, as he is in hunt mode, in the moment. I look up through the branch, camera in hand, body very still, trying to communicate, silently, an intent I am now even sure how to formulate. He nods and tucks in his nose. There is a mouse to catch.

I look up. He looks down.

He reads me, we lock eyes: camera lenses, cat pupils.

Click.

I am his captive.
