Benjamas Liwnaree completed her bachelor’s degree in Biochemistry at the University of Burapha studying the biochemical and kinetic properties of recombinant glycerol 3-phosphate oxidase from Mycoplasma pneumoniae. She then started working as a research assistant at the Protein-Ligand Engineering and Molecular Biology Laboratory at the National Center for Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology (BIOTEC). She worked on protein expression and purification of Plasmodium falciparum dihydropterin pyrophosphokinase-dihydropteroate synthase-dihydropteroate and xylanase for kinetic assays and crystallization. For the past two years, she has worked in the Virology and Cell Technology Laboratory of Dr Jaru-Ampornpan, where she has been studying the role of ORF3 accessory protein in cell adaptation porcine epidemic diarrhoea virus (PEDV) and the cleavage site mutation in PEDV nucleoprotein (N).
