Dr Alex Jones completed his undergraduate degree in Biochemistry at the University of Warwick, before conducting his PhD in Biochemistry at the University of Kent studying the proofreading mechanism of the E. coli protein translocase, Tat. He also worked on various other projects, including a BBSRC-funded project on the commercialisation of the Tat system as well as protein purification and crystallisation at Charles River. He now holds the position of Postdoctoral Research Associate in Prof. Colin Robinson’s lab, where he will be optimising biopharmaceutical production in E. coli as part of the current GCRF project.
