Malaysia trip increases network of contacts and collaborators in SE Asia

Colin Robinson presentation

Prof. Colin Robinson recently travelled to Kuala Lumpur to meet with a number of potential collaborators and stakeholders from academia and industry in Malaysia. During his four day visit to the Malaysian capital, Prof. Robinson met with representatives from four Malaysian Universities, including: University of Malaya, Universiti Putra Malaysia, Monash University Malaysia and University of Malaysia, Sabah. Meetings were also held with CCM Pharmaceuticals, a large company interested in biopharmaceutical manufacturing. Prof. Robinson was also hosted by representatives from the British High Commission, who offered their assistance in organising a showcase event in Kuala Lumpur in 2019, aimed at disseminating the project objectives and results. Through visits such as this, the GCRF consortium’s network of contacts in SE Asia is increasing and new collaborations are being forged. As a result of Prof. Robinson’s recent trip, plans for a new collaboration on the production of shrimp and fish vaccines are being developed with the University of Malaysia, Sabah, and a further visit is planned for November 2018.
