About

Ngo Cong Chinh, Master of Public Policy, and PhD Candidate, is the Director of the Centre for Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR) and Climate Change, and of the Asian Management and Development Institute (AMDI).  AMDI is a local and independent research and consultancy institute based in Hanoi.  Mr Ngo is an expert in community-based DRR, and climate change adaptation in the Southeast Asia.  He engages in both programme management and research, with special focus on socio-economic impacts and livelihood alternatives.  Mr Ngo has led multidisciplinary teams and worked in cooperation with many key stakeholders in the fields of disaster management and climate change in Vietnam, including UNDP, World Bank, USAID, national ministries, national and international NGOs.  He is well published in relevant journals, and his current research interests are policy-advocacy, disaster and climate change risks, household risk perception, risk communication, and community-based adaptation.
