Dr Hiep Van Nguyen

About

Dr Hiep Van Nguyen received his PhD at the University of Hawaii at Manoa, USA. He is currently a senior researcher and Director of the Applied Geophysics Center (AGPC), Institute of Geophysics (IGP), at Vietnam’s Academy of Science and Technology (VAST). His research interests include heavy rainfall, numerical modelling, terrain effects on weather and climate over complex terrain areas, high-wind, hurricane dynamics and forecasts, regional climate, high resolution dynamical climate downscaling. For last 10 years, Dr Nguyen has been working on projects related to weather and climate extremes over Vietnam and Southeast Asia, and is a preeminent expert in these fields.
